Plasma cutting
Plasma cutting is an effective medium for both thin and thick pipes. The plants of STL Italia can usually cut a wall of carbon steel (thickness) up to 120 mm thick and can drill and cut layers of stainless steel up to 130 mm, using a mixture of Argon and Hydrogen combined with Nitrogen.
If it is necessary to cut pipes with higher thicknesses, the machines for plasma cutting pipes offer a valid alternative and a more economical solution, especially if the pipes have a poor surface quality (oxide, scale, etc.).
The plasma cutting plants of STL srl are able to process pipes up to 2.5 metres in diameter, and very high thicknesses with low surface quality, since this type of material is often stored outside, being very bulky, and is therefore in contact with atmospheric agents.
The caulking of the cuts is a feature of primary importance. Accuracy is greatly improved when the latest advances in high-definition plasma and pipe oxyfuel are incorporated.
The HD plasma cutting allows you to perform caulking on cuts, up to +/- 45°. Oxy-cutting allows you to perform caulking on cuts, up to +/- 70°
